A global leader in food ingredients materials is searching for a talented leader to take on the Head of Strategic Accounts (Food Ingredients) position based in Kuala Lumpur.
About this Head of Strategic Accounts (Food Ingredients) Role:
In this business-critical role, you will be tasked to develop and execute the tactical sales strategy and business plan, deploy accurate and effective sales processes and manage the sales-force for the division in Asia. You will also be responsible to lead and drive strong distributor channel management across the region.
- Lead the strategic development, tactical deployment and execution of sales plans and goals
- Establish and maintain strong connection with customers across the entire sales organisation and drive customer satisfaction and business retention
- Develop, monitor and drive sales team performance by providing suitable training and coaching methods and defining clear career growth paths for the team
- Ensure full maximisation of the value of the account and the potential to further develop the business relationship with the customer
- Oversee and ensure the strategic alignment between business strategy and local sales plan
- Leverage and possess deeper industry intelligence and collaborate cross functionally to identify the market / customer needs, potential value creation and optimisation generated from the innovative solutions
- Directly or indirectly negotiate complex/customised contracts that involves long / medium term
- Take the lead in developing the distribution management strategy by aligning between business strategy and commercial plan
- Work closely with the sales teams to identify and develop new potential channel partners
The successful Head of Strategic Accounts (Food Ingredients) will need to have solid experience within the Food Ingredients industry with strong high-level experience in strategic sales & business development, leadership skills and ability to manage key distributor channel partners.
- Bachelor's / Master’s Degree in Food Science or Technology / Chemistry / Business or related
- At least 10 years of progressive sales management experience within the Food Ingredients industry
- Proven influencing skills (downward, upward and peer to peer)
- Strong business acumen
- Ability to manage and lead direct and indirect teams
- A strong customer focused approach
- Strong business development and customer intimacy mind-set
- Proven process orientation, especially around sales processes
- Proven ability to drive sales performance in line with business and enterprise strategies/priorities
- Proven ability to operate effectively in matrix organisations
