Deputy Procurement GM

A leading supplier of medical devices supplying to over 70 countries worldwide is seeking a Deputy Procurement GM. In this job, you will provide leadership and coordination for all procurement activities nationwide to drive the business growth.

About the Deputy Procurement GM Role:
In this position, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire procurement process in the medical device company and build long-term stable partnership with suppliers according to the company’s procurement strategies in place.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and drive the strategic sourcing and operational procurement plan to ensure on-time delivery of goods and services
• Oversee all functions of sourcing, price negotiation, contract management and cost optimisation
• Lead negotiations, tender and relationship building with vendors to meet production demands and achieve competitive rates
• Establish key-performance metrics and monitor both direct and indirect procurement activities to ensure products and services are fulfilled according to quality, quantity, and contract terms
• Be the bridge with other departments to develop an annual purchasing plan based on departmental budgets and procedures to ensure process optimisation
• Monitor cost saving strategies and spend analysis of vendors

To succeed in this Deputy Procurement GM, you will need strong experience in contract negotiation and relationship building.

Key Requirements:

• Tertiary qualifications in Supply Chain/Operations/Business Studies or a related field of study
• Minimum of 10 - 20 years of work experience in a managerial purchasing/procurement from medical device or manufacturing industry
• Ability to manage stakeholders is an advantage
• Strong leadership, people management, and negotiation skills
