Packaging Buyer

An established trade and manufacturing company supplying products to the various industries across the globe is seeking a Packaging Buyer. In this job, you will lead multiple business sourcing activities to suit the packaging needs of internal stakeholders.

About the Packaging Buyer Role:
In this position, you will be in charge of managing complex procurement tasks to provide inputs to the global category team according to the requirements of the different business units.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement sourcing strategies while executing medium to highly complex sourcing events
• Independently drive sourcing projects for internal user needs
• Build and maintain relationships with local stakeholders to provide inputs on local user needs
• Provide local market analysis to the category manager
• Drive cost savings initiatives, taking into account potential goods to be commonly used across regions
• Manage supplier sourcing initiatives, negotiations, contract awarding, data gathering and identifying key contacts

To succeed in the Packaging Buyer role, you will need to have extensive knowledge in packaging materials as well as sourcing and procurement processes.

Key Requirements:

• Tertiary qualifications in supply chain or related field of study
• Five years of work experience in sourcing and procurement functions, or packaging materials is an advantage
• Must have SAP experience
• Strong analytical skills, influential, operations process driven and focused on accuracy
• Able to resolve conflicts, strong sense of urgency, proactive and possess the foresight to plan ahead for the business
• Excellent interpersonal skills, strong stakeholder management capability to communicate effectively with other functional heads
