An established non-woven manufacturer is seeking an R&D Technical Lead to provide technical support to hygiene and personal care companies for development projects and drive internal R&D work. In this job, you will report directly to the R&D Business Development Manager.
About the R&D Technical Lead Role:
In this position, you will be responsible for leading and managing R&D projects with customers for timely commercialisation along with developing and improving the R&D functional operations and productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Be responsible for timely delivery of project implementation plan from the region and meeting specification outlines in the technical plan
- Handle customer complaints and resolution in a timely and excellent manner
- Be involved in development projects with strategic and key customers
- Implement quality management procedure and system to achieve a satisfactory product quality level
- Ensure good documentation of R&D projects for proper approval, tracking, reporting and closure
- Establish manufacturing procedures, product and raw material specifications in line with the formulation requirement
- Identify and develop new product opportunities that would enhance the value proposition with costumers
- Conduct tests to validate accuracy of tinting database and make recommendations for improvements
- Support business development initiatives
To be successful in this role, you must have five years' experience in handling customers within an R&D capacity.
Key Requirements:
- Tertiary qualification in science/engineering or a relevant field of study
- Five years' experience in an R&D department within the personal care industry
- Technical acumen and technical education
- Good leadership skills with strong customer facing personality
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and laboratory operations skills
- Team player with good interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams
- Able to occasionally travel across Asia
