An exciting Senior Customer Quality Engineer job has just become available at one of the leading electronics multinational manufacturing and production firms to be based in Penang. Reporting directly to the Quality Manager, this is a role for a talent who is leader in the field of quality assurance in electronics manufacturing.
About the Senior Customer Quality Engineer Role:
This is a great opportunity for the Senior Customer Quality Engineer who is responsible for leading and driving quality improvement activities, supporting operations on the assurance of quality processes and products compliance with the standard of quality management system and customer requirements. Additionally, you will promote continuous improvement in quality manufacturing system for total customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, facilitate and participate in the corrective action process (8D) investigations, the MRB (materials review board) process, the first article process, part certification process, and the quality system auditing process
- Develop, revise, and maintain quality documentation as necessary
- Facilitate and participate in continuous improvement efforts utilising quality tools
- Assist customers regarding quality requests and issues
- Assist and support other departments in quality system and product quality related issues and coordinate the quality efforts and initiatives
- Create quality related reports for internal and external distribution
- Perform supplier audits, internal audits and participate in customer audits following ISO standards and requirements
- Coordinate PPAP report compilation process (including developing, reviewing and approving FMEAs, control plans, MSA, GR&R, SPC, etc., as appropriate) with support from other involved parties (e.g. suppliers, engineering and manufacturing partners)
- Provide training on quality alerts and other quality related topics to others within the organisation
- Establish and maintain quality data like PPM, DFMEA/PFMEA, 8D, RoHS compliance, PPAP and control plan, SPC, MSA and other quality-related data and records
- Work with operations and engineering teams to develop methods for quality control and improvement activities
To succeed in this Senior Customer Quality Engineer job, you will need to have practical experience in customer quality management and be well versed in PPM, DFMEA/PFMEA, SPC.
Key Requirements:
- At least a bachelor’s degree in engineering or science discipline or equivalent
- At least five years' work experience in quality roles in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to work well in a team environment with high willingness on self-participation and occasional coaching to the team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good knowledge of quality systems and experience in strategic handling of customer requests
- Ability to lead and drive quality improvement activities
- Familiar with precision measuring instruments such as Scope and CMM systems
- Experience in handling customer complaints and implement effective solutions
- Good knowledge of ISO9001, ISO14001 and/or ISO45001 and some system audit experience
- Sound technical knowledge in gauge R&R, FMEA, SPC, DOE and quality tools
