Project Engineering Manager

A reputable FMCG manufacturing company is currently seeking a Project Engineering Manager. In this job, you will manage complex CAPEX projects by leading and coaching a project team. This position reports to the Engineering Manager.

About the Project Engineering Manager Role:
In this Project Engineering Manager position, you will be responsible for planning the technical side of a CAPEX investment project ensuring a design for manufacturing excellence and lead the end-to-end execution by managing a cross-functional team. You may have to relocate and optimise the existing fixed assets and purchase new fixed assets when necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

• Establish and define the project team, project scope, short and long-term goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration and alignment with senior management and relevant stakeholders
• Execute the basic and detailed design of the project based on company standards, local regulations, the defined user requirements, and considering safety, quality, affordability, maintainability, operability and reliability excellence
• Lead the team and coordinate the contribution of each stakeholder, to ensure that the project engineering works such as building, equipment, piping, and utilities work is implemented in accordance with the defined timing, cost and quality, the user requirements and the characteristics of a unit operation
• Coordinate efforts with the operation team to ensure to ensure a successful start-up that meets manufacturing excellence criteria and the required production volumes
• Hand over and transition to operations after the complete qualification and verification of the installation
• Lead the project engineering team by integrating, motivating, providing feedback, coaching, developing, managing and evaluating team members and being their support and liaison with the steering committee and all the other project stakeholders

To succeed in the Project Engineering Manager role, you will need to have a solid track record of managing complex engineering CAPEX projects in the FMCG industry.

Key Requirements:

• Tertiary education in mechanical/electrical/electronic/mechatronic/electromechanical engineering related discipline
• 10 years of project management experience in an FMCG MNC manufacturing environment
• Exceptional project management skills including good stakeholder management, communication and presentation skills
• Able to thrive in fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
• Prior exposure to lean start-up methodology will be highly regarded
• Resilient, high integrity, strong accountability and analytical approach to problem solving
• Familiar with GMP and FSSC 22000 standards
• Familiar with types of packaging materials and processing equipment
