Utilities Manager

A reputable FMCG manufacturing company is currently seeking a Utilities Manager to manage the operations of industrial services. In this job, you will report to the Engineering Manager.

About the Utilities Manager Role:
In this Utilities Manager position, you will be responsible for overseeing the boiler, chiller, cooling tower, compressed air, water and wastewater treatment operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the Wastewater Treatment Plant, Boiler House, Compressed Air System, Refrigeration System and Process Water System
• Ensure that the departmental QMS and HACCP are flawlessly executed
• Troubleshoot and resolve quality deviations in supply of utilities and maintenance of equipment
• Ensure no production downtime due to utilities
• Ensure that all set departmental SOP and policy compliant with international standards
• Provide input in annual operation expenditure budget
• Study and identify department training needs
• Ensure regulatory conformance for treated wastewater discharge and boiler stack emission
• Maintain good relationships with local authorities
• Implement continuous improvement on department operations and equipment

To succeed in this role, you must have prior utilities management experience in an FMCG company.

Key Requirements:

• Tertiary qualifications in chemical/mechanical engineering or related field of study
• At least five years of utilities management experience within multinational FMCG manufacturers
• Solid knowledge in the operations of wastewater treatment plant, boilers, refrigeration, compressed air, and process water system is ideal
• Strong engineering background ideally within a process manufacturing environment
• Candidates from chemical refineries and oil and gas industries are welcome to apply
• Strong project and stakeholder managements skills with experience navigating complex projects
• Ability to multitask and prioritise workload while delivering high accuracy/quality work
• Good leadership skills and able to lead utilities team to accomplish set goals
