Engineering Assistant Manager (Regional)

A leading chemical company is seeking an Engineering Assistant Manager (Regional) to lead to strategise the maintenance programmes to achieve optimum equipment utilisation and improve reliability. In this job, you will report directly to the Regional Engineering Manager.

About the Engineering Assistant Manager (Regional) Role:
In this position, you will be responsible to oversee all maintenance operations in the factories as well as carry out changes and modifications to existing processes for quality improvement purposes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define the preventive maintenance programme in plants
• Conduct the knowledge transfers between the plants, regions and corporate competence centre
• Lead regional maintenance audits and risk assessments
• Handle the regional maintenance improvement project management
• Provide or facilitate technical support to plants
• Develop a regional spare parts strategy
• Roll out and drive support plants in case of emergency through RCA methodology
• Support SAP-PM implementation and usage improvements
• Manage maintenance improvements from group maintenance competence centres
• Manage section budget and prepare and proposed major OPEX in collaboration with the inspection team for the maintenance section

To succeed in this role you must have the ability to lead effectively and possess a keen understanding of plant maintenance operations.

Key Requirements:

• Degree in engineering (electrical/mechanical) or a relevant field
• Nine years’ work experience in a managerial maintenance role within the manufacturing industry
• Previously carried out regional responsibilities
• Prior experience rolling out preventive maintenance programmes
• Solid knowledge in Condition Based Monitoring (CBM)
• Knowledgeable in critical spare parts assessment and SAP PM
• Good analytical skills for equipment control and process technology
• Strong troubleshooting skills, good leadership skills, interpersonal skills and analytical approach to problem solving
• Proactive, results oriented, high level of integrity, decisive and possess good follow-through
• Strong planning capability and organised
• Able to communicate at all levels of management and good presentation skills
• Highly motivated and results-oriented
• Strong leadership, accountability, team building and advanced coaching skills
