About the Strategy & Consumer Insights Manager (FMCG)Role:
In this business critical role you will be responsible for defining the broad research strategy, delivering the highest quality service alongside the marketing director. You will also take the lead providing direction to all consumer insights related activities, including market research, qualitative and quantitative survey and directory/league table submissions
Manage research activities to provide accurate and timely market and competitor information for strategic and operational decisions
Manage the most complex, large or difficult research projects; evaluate findings, prepare reports and make recommendation on the implications of alternative marketing and business development
Manage on a daily basis, implement and optimise the use of and add value to syndicated research
Challenge research agencies to guarantee high quality standards on outputs delivered in a timely manner.
Plan, prioritise, and manage research projects within established budgets and deadlines. The purpose of studies may be to measure current, and forecast future, market activity and consumer trends
Develop and implement insightful data reporting for all research work to help company to monitor brands/market in effective and consumer friendly way
Interact heavily with consumer, medical and trade marketing teams as a team player, to ensure clear communication/understanding and action related to consumer and consumer opportunities
Liaise with global/regional consumer insights to utilise research tools and transfer best practices
To succeed in this Strategy & Consumer Insights Manager (FMCG) job, you will need to have the ability to work effectively and co-operatively with senior business development teams, across borders and internal matrix.
A recognised postgraduate/graduate degree or equivalent in marketing, social science or statistics
A minimum of 12 - 14 years of experience in marketing/market research
Experience in both a research agency servicing FMCG client and within FMCG companies is ideal
Qualitative and Quantitative research techniques.
Passion for strategy, insights, marketing; keenness for continuous improvement
Creative and resourceful thinker; skilled in writing a brief and working independently with agencies to plan, design and execute research projects and strategy workshops
