A leading organisation in the fast-moving consumer goods sector is seeking a Media and Communication Manager to join their dynamic marketing team based in Malaysia. This permanent, full-time position offers you the opportunity to shape and deliver integrated media and communications strategies that drive brand equity and business results across multiple channels.

What you'll do:

As Media and Communication Manager (FMCG), you will be at the heart of developing integrated strategies that elevate brand presence across diverse channels. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve collaborating with both internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless execution of campaigns that resonate with target audiences. You will oversee the entire lifecycle of media activities from strategic planning through execution to post-campaign analysis. By managing budgets effectively and applying insights from performance data, you will contribute directly to achieving business objectives while maintaining compliance with governance standards. Your ability to foster strong relationships with agencies and stakeholders will be essential in driving alignment across functions for successful campaign delivery.

  • Develop and execute comprehensive media strategies spanning above-the-line (ATL), digital, social media, e-commerce platforms, and emerging channels to support brand objectives.
  • Recommend optimal media mix and investment levels tailored to specific consumer journeys while aligning with overall marketing goals.
  • Ensure all media plans are insight-led by leveraging data analysis to inform strategy and execution across various communication platforms.
  • Manage day-to-day media execution in partnership with agencies and external collaborators, maintaining accuracy, quality control, and timely delivery of campaigns.
  • Monitor campaign performance metrics such as reach, frequency, CPM, CPC, and ROI; optimise plans to maximise effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Lead the development of brand and corporate communication plans across paid, owned, and earned channels to ensure consistent messaging and tone of voice.
  • Oversee content planning including calendar management and asset development in close collaboration with internal teams and creative agencies.
  • Support public relations initiatives by coordinating with PR agencies or Corporate Affairs on announcements, issues management, influencer engagement, or key opinion leader (KOL) partnerships.
  • Manage budgets for media and communications activities with disciplined spending practices; conduct post-campaign reviews to apply learnings for future improvements.
  • Act as the primary liaison between internal stakeholders and external agencies to facilitate integrated planning and cross-functional coordination.

What you bring:

Your proven experience as a Media and Communication Manager (FMCG) will enable you to bring valuable expertise in developing multi-channel strategies that drive measurable results. You possess a deep understanding of how integrated campaigns can influence consumer behaviour within the FMCG landscape. Your background includes hands-on involvement in managing complex projects alongside agencies or cross-functional teams. With strong analytical capabilities at your disposal, you are adept at interpreting campaign data to refine approaches for greater impact. Your interpersonal skills allow you to build trust-based relationships internally as well as externally while maintaining clear lines of communication throughout every stage of project delivery. A commitment to detail-oriented work ensures all activities adhere strictly to regulatory requirements without compromising creativity or effectiveness.

  • Degree in Marketing, Business, Communications or related field from a recognised institution is required; postgraduate qualification such as MBA is an added advantage.
  • Minimum six years’ experience in media planning, communications management or integrated marketing roles within FMCG or consumer goods industries is strongly preferred.
  • Proven track record managing paid, owned, and earned media activities including digital campaigns across multiple platforms.
  • Experience working collaboratively with media agencies, creative teams, PR firms or other external partners on large-scale projects.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite; familiarity with performance marketing analytics tools is highly desirable for interpreting campaign data.
  • Exceptional analytical skills enabling you to interpret complex media performance metrics for continuous improvement of strategies.
  • Demonstrated commercial acumen with sound budget management capabilities supporting disciplined spending practices.
  • Outstanding stakeholder management abilities facilitating effective collaboration across departments or agency partners.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills allowing you to convey structured messages consistently across all touchpoints.
  • High attention to detail combined with an organised approach ensures compliance with governance standards while delivering quality outcomes.
