About the Associate General Counsel, APAC Role: In an organisation with a business that spans 700 cities across 6 continents, this role supports the APAC business. In this market leading fintech company, this Associate General Counsel, APAC plays a diverse and varied in-house role.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the legal function in the APAC region and be pro-active within the management team
Manage a team of legal associates
Draft, review, negotiate and advise on a variety of agreements such as those related to cloud, sale, installation and maintenance, network services, co-location and carrier, software licenses, lease, confidentiality, distribution and service partner and data processor
Respond to the legal aspects in tender responses
Liaise with the global legal team in EMEA and US and attend to requests
Assist with the APAC region to create/implement/review/amend processes/training as and when required
Provide ad hoc legal advice and assistance
To succeed in this Associate General Counsel, APAC role, you will need to have a strong foundation in legal matters related to technology and have strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with key stakeholders.
Key Requirements:
Law degree or equivalent with a minimum of four years of PQE (existing in-house experience is preferred)
IT or telecommunications experience and/or experience dealing with the financial services sector
Proficiency in Mandarin is an added advantage to support the Hong Kong and China markets but not mandatory
Ability to work independently for matters under the laws of Malaysia and global experience would be an advantage
Proven ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and able to develop practical solutions to complex problems
