You will be leading a team and playing a pivotal role in advising on complex legal matters, negotiating and drafting high-value commercial agreements

What you'll do:

As Head of Legal, your day-to-day responsibilities included but not limited to :

• Provide strategic legal advice to the executive team on all aspects of corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and risk management, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives.
• Oversee the drafting, review, and negotiation of complex contracts and agreements, safeguarding the organisation’s interests while maintaining positive relationships with external partners.
• Lead the development and implementation of internal policies and procedures that promote best practices in legal compliance across all business units.
• Manage a dedicated team of legal professionals by offering mentorship, guidance, and support to foster their growth within a nurturing environment.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including finance, human resources, and operations to address legal matters proactively and collaboratively.
• Monitor changes in relevant legislation and regulations, ensuring timely communication of updates to key stakeholders and adapting company policies accordingly.
• Represent the organisation in dealings with regulatory authorities, external counsel, and other third parties to resolve disputes or manage litigation effectively.

Develop training materials and deliver educational sessions for staff on key legal topics such as data protection, anti-bribery measures, and employment law.

• Support mergers, acquisitions, or other corporate transactions by conducting thorough due diligence processes and providing clear recommendations to senior management.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for Head of Legal brings substantial experience navigating complex legal environments within large organisations.

• 15years -18 years of experience, from private practice or in-house, with property or financial services experience.
• Proven track record in managing complex contract negotiations involving multiple stakeholders while balancing commercial objectives with regulatory requirements.
• Strong knowledge and experience in handling CIPAA (Construction Industry Payment and Adjudication Act 2012), including managing construction disputes, adjudication proceedings, and providing strategic advice on dispute resolution.
• Proven ability to advise on corporate and commercial matters, offering practical corporate advisory support aligned with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams by fostering an inclusive atmosphere where knowledge sharing is encouraged and individual strengths are celebrated.
• Excellent interpersonal skills enabling you to build trusted relationships with colleagues at all levels as well as external partners such as regulators or outside counsel.
• Experience designing and implementing internal policies that enhance compliance culture across large organisations operating in regulated industries.
