An established and award-winning property development, investment and management company is currently seeking a high-calibre candidate for a Senior Legal Manager job to join their legal team based in their dynamic and modern Kuala Lumpur office.

About the Senior Legal Manager Role:
You will handle a wide range of legal matters and play a critical role in ensuring the legal team’s continued success, growth, and development as well as to accelerate the organisation’s presence as a key property player in Malaysia.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage legal aspects for both property development and property investment portfolios at group level and for subsidiary companies
• Draft, review and prepare legal documents/agreements for commercial matters, leases, tenancies, sale and purchase transactions for residential and commercial (office and retail) properties, joint ventures, corporate loans and refinancing, and construction contracts
• Render legal advice on a variety of legal issues which include but not limited land development issues, appointment of external vendors / consultants, and strata and property management matters
• Manage property construction and tribunal dispute resolution (adjudication/arbitration, Homebuyers and Strata Management Tribunals), and debt recovery litigation
• Key person in managing periodic assessment of policies and related procedures on areas such as anti-bribery and anti-corruption policy and any other policies on governance, integrity, and compliance
• Work closely with and maintaining good rapport with all levels of management and departments within the group as well as with all external solicitors and consultants

To succeed in this Senior Legal Manager role, you will need to be able to work effectively in a thriving environment and possess the drive to take up leadership opportunities.

Key Requirements:

• At least 10 - 15 years' legal working experience and admitted to the Malaysia Bar
• Strong stakeholders’ management skills, strong command of English and Malay languages (both written and spoken) as well as good leadership skills and ability to demonstrate authority in relevant legal knowledge/practice.
• Experience in real estate with people management experience. Senior managers specialising in property/real estate industries are preferred
• Pleasant personality, hardworking and a team player
