About the Legal Manager/Senior Legal Manager Role:
Reporting to the Head of Legal, you will be assisting and handling all corporate and various legal matters of the group and playing a vital role in the legal team’s continued success, growth, and development as well as to accelerate the organisation’s presence as a key property player in Malaysia.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drafting, advising, reviewing, and vetting all legal documents which include but not limited to agreements, letters and other similar documents as well as attending to contracts negotiations
• Rendering legal advice to the management and business operation in legal matters affecting the company as well as conducting research, identifying, and providing updates on the latest legal cases and legislation affecting the company and advising the relevant business units as well as the management on the potential impact and ways to mitigate the exposure
• Conducting research and preparing statement of defence for all cases in front of the Tribunal for Homebuyers Claims and representing the company at the Tribunal for Homebuyer Claims
• Compiling and providing relevant information, reviewing, and approving affidavits and all other related court documents for litigation cases and liaising with appointed external solicitors in respect of all legal-related matters
• Managing the company's intellectual property portfolio and working closely with appointed trademark agent of the company
• Preparing bi-weekly/monthly legal updates for the management and performing other duties and tasks as required

To succeed in this role, you will need to be a team player with good leadership qualities and have the following traits and qualifications.

Key Requirements:

• LLB with at least five years of relevant legal work experience, preferably from the property development/construction industry
• Strong command of English (both written and spoken)
• Good business and commercial knowledge and the ability to work with senior management and other business units on legal and corporate issues
• Sound judgement and the ability to analyse issues, situations and information
• Driven, proactive, organised, resourceful and is able to work independently with minimum supervision in a challenging and fast-paced work environment
