Contract & Compliance Manager

What you'll do:
As a Contract and Compliance Manager, you will be responsible for :
- Draft, review, and manage contracts, agreements, and NDAs with clients, suppliers, and partners to ensure all terms are accurately reflected and obligations are clearly defined.
- Maintain a central contract register while monitoring key deadlines such as renewals, obligations, milestones, and penalties to prevent lapses or missed opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with contract terms by escalating risks to management when necessary and proactively addressing potential issues before they arise.
- Collaborate with project management, finance, business development, and engineering teams to align contractual commitments with operational execution for seamless project delivery.
- Coordinate with external legal counsel on specialised or high-risk matters to ensure expert guidance is sought for complex contractual scenarios.
- Oversee and manage company licenses and permits by liaising with relevant government agencies and authorities on approvals, submissions, incentive applications, and claims.
- Track deadlines for timely renewals and regulatory filings to prevent compliance gaps that could impact ongoing projects or business operations.
- Support internal departments in interpreting and applying regulatory requirements for projects and operations by providing clear guidance on compliance standards.
- Develop and maintain standardised templates and processes for contracts and regulatory submissions to streamline documentation workflows across the organisation.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records for audits and management reporting while providing periodic updates to senior management on contract performance and regulatory compliance status.
What you bring
- Bachelor’s Degree in Law, with minimum 5–8 years’ experience in contract management, legal administration, corporate compliance or related roles demonstrates your proven ability to handle complex commercial agreements.
- Prior exposure to manufacturing, engineering, automation or renewable energy sectors is advantageous as it provides valuable industry context for the role.
- Strong attention to detail coupled with risk awareness enables you to manage multiple priorities efficiently without compromising accuracy.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia
- A collaborative team player who can also work independently ensures smooth coordination across departments while maintaining initiative on individual tasks.
- Experience coordinating with external legal counsel on specialised matters adds depth to your understanding of high-risk contractual scenarios.
Competence in maintaining accurate documentation for audits or management reporting reflects your commitment to transparency and accountability.
- With developing standardised templates or processes streamlines workflows across contract administration.
