A leading conglomerate is seeking an AM/M Legal to support its growing financial services business, particularly in areas such as money-lending and capital financing. You will provide legal support related to financial services operations, including advising on regulatory compliance, reviewing financing structures, and drafting and negotiating agreements related to lending and capital financing activities.

What you'll do:

You will play an integral role in supporting the organisation’s financial services operations by providing expert guidance on legal matters related to money-lending, capital financing, and associated transactions.

  • Review, draft and advise on facility/loan agreements and other transactional documents (including security documentation) related to moneylending, working capital financing, and equities/shares related financing arrangements.
  • Liaise and work with external solicitors and all relevant parties on the preparation of the facility/loan and other transactional agreements necessary for drawdown.
  • Provide timely and accurate reporting of the business and operations under his/her portfolio.
  • Advise and manage legal and compliance matters.
  • Assist with financing/banking and corporate work.
  • Any other ad-hoc (legal) projects.

What you bring:

You will bring robust experience gained from previous roles within the financial services sector or similar environments. Your background should include hands-on involvement with drafting transactional documents for money-lending or capital financing arrangements as well as navigating regulatory compliance requirements.

  • Degree in Law (LL.B) from a reputable university and admitted to Malaysian Bar.
  • Have at least 3-5 years’ post-qualification experience (PQE), or above,
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Malaysian and Singapore lending/credit and financial services regulatory and compliance requirements (having experience working in an Australian bank or financial institution is a bonus).
  • Manage sensitive and confidential information with care and integrity.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work in a cross-functional and cross-jurisdictional environment with multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail, meticulous, and able to go the extra mile in terms of workload and deliver in tight deadlines.
