Manager, Legal
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and knowledgeable Manager for their Legal Department. This role offers an exciting opportunity to utilise your legal expertise in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and advising on a variety of commercial contracts, as well as advising on legal matters from a legal perspective in relation to all projects and initiatives.
What you'll do:
As a Manager in our Legal Department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our company operates within the law at all times. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and advising on a variety of commercial contracts. You will also advise on legal matters from a legal perspective in relation to all projects and initiatives. Your excellent organisational skills will be put to use as you manage Junior Legal Counsels and assist with administrative tasks within the department.
- Drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and advising on a variety of commercial contracts
- Advising on legal matters and applicable laws in relation to all projects and initiatives
- Managing and supervising Junior Legal Counsels
Keeping updated with the latest developments in legislation or regulatory environment especially in corporate, financial and fintech sectors
- Identifying potential areas of legal vulnerability and risk across the Company and taking steps to address them
- Supporting the business needs by working closely with other departments to ensure the smooth operation of the Company
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this Manager, Legal position brings a wealth of experience from either a law firm or an in-house legal team. With between 5-8 years' experience under your belt, you are adept at Corporate Commercial Drafting and Advisory. Your knowledge of regulatory requirements in the financial sector is second-to-none, as is your understanding of operational business processes. You are able to work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as organisational skills.
- Possess a Bachelors Degree in Law
