What you'll do:
As a Legal Associate, you will be involved in wide range of corporate banking & finance matters. Some of the responsibilities are:
- Assist in advising on complex domestic and international financing transactions, including structured financing, acquisition financing, project financing, Islamic financing, and asset-backed securitisation.
- Draft and review legal documentation for debt capital market financing, syndicated loans, and cross-border transactions.
- Support both conventional and Islamic financing matters, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and legal standards.
- Contribute to legal aspects of award-winning and first-in-the-market financing deals, learning from senior colleagues and partners.
- Provide legal research and analysis on landmark financing transactions in Malaysia, gaining exposure to large-scale projects and cross-border deals.
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this Legal Associate position will have 1-3 years of experience in Corporate Banking & Finance, with a strong understanding of financing structures, both conventional and Islamic, and a proactive approach to learning and contributing to complex cross-border transactions and award-winning deals. Some of the requirements are :
- 1 to 3 years' experience in Corporate Banking & Finance, Islamic Finance, and Debt Capital Market.
- Hands-on experience in drafting and reviewing agreements and advising on complex financing transactions in these areas.
- Proficient in drafting clear, concise, and accurate legal documents.
- Skilled in reviewing complex legal issues, identifying risks, and providing practical solutions.
- Capable of clearly conveying legal concepts to clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.
- Proven ability to work effectively within a team, collaborating with colleagues and clients.
- Able to manage tasks autonomously while seeking guidance when necessary
