Our client is seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to provide strategic legal support for their business operations. This role offers the opportunity to:

What you'll do:
As a Legal Counsel, your key responsibilities included: -
- Legal Support: Provide high-quality and timely legal advice to the company's business operations, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Contract Management: Oversee the drafting, review, and negotiation of contracts, maintaining contract templates, and ensuring efficient administration and management of the legal team agreements portfolio.
- Corporate Governance: Establish and maintain robust corporate governance practices to ensure internal compliance and adherence to legal standards.
- Risk Management: Identify and address legal and regulatory risks associated with the company's business operations, implementing strategies to mitigate risks and protect the company's interests.
- Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with senior stakeholders as well as functional leadership teams of APAC & global entities, including Tax, Finance, Procurement, HR, and R&D.
- External Engagement: Liaise with external counsels and third-party supplier representatives, including commercial and legal leads, to ensure effective legal representation and support.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop junior legal team members, providing guidance and fostering a collaborative environment to ensure the delivery of high-quality legal support across the business operations.
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this Legal Counsel position brings a wealth of legal knowledge and leadership experience. Some key requirements included: -
- Qualified lawyer with minimum of 9 -15 years’ post-qualification experience gained in a large national or international law firm or as in-house counsel within an international setting.
- Proven track record in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of high-value and strategic contracts, ensuring alignment with legal and business objectives.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving business environment, with a proactive and flexible approach to problem-solving.
- Strong leadership, mentoring, and coaching skills, with a focus on developing junior team members and fostering a high-performance legal team.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams across diverse geographical regions.
- Capacity to provide strategic legal advice that supports business goals while managing legal risks.
- Proficiency in Chinese (spoken and/or written) is view favourably.
