What you'll do:
As a Regional Legal Counsel, you will play a crucial role in growing the organization. Key responsibilities including:-
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating various commercial agreements related to IT, including software licenses, data processing agreements, and technology contracts for distribution and implementation across Asia Pacific (including China)
- Providing legal support to multiple business functions (HR, marketing, finance, etc.), conducting legal research, and devising risk mitigation strategies.
- Partnering with the commercial team and account managers to support sales and business development initiatives.
- Supporting corporate transactions and projects in the region as needed.
- Developing and implementing contract models and internal policies aligned with business needs and sector growth.
- Monitoring legal developments and advising on compliance measures tailored to operational needs.
- Managing outside counsel for specialized advice and complex legal matters, including litigation.
- Implementing legal and compliance training and contributing to global Legal team projects.
- Providing advice on the interpretation of laws and regulations applicable to organization’s activities and on the best practices applicable in the information technology sector.
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for the Regional Legal Counsel role will bring a wealth of experience and a strong legal background.
- Qualified lawyer with minimum of 7-10 years’ post-qualification experience gained in a large national or international law firm or as in-house counsel within an international setting.
- Exhibit strong communication, analytical, and negotiation skills; showing enthusiasm for an inclusive and diverse work environment.
- Possessing strong commercial acumen and a practical approach to decision-making, while being a collaborative team player with creative problem-solving abilities.
