An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Regional Legal Counsel to support the growth of an organization in the F&B industry. You will be responsible for managing all legal matters across the SEA. The role requires a proactive and strategic legal professional who can provide expert legal advice and support the business in achieving its goals.

As Regional Legal Counsel, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the company's legal strategy. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include: -
- Provide expert legal advice to the business on a wide range of issues, including corporate governance, commercial contracts, employment law, intellectual property, data privacy, licensing and regulatory compliance.
- Draft, review, and negotiate various commercial agreements, including franchise agreements, supply chain contracts, lease agreements, distribution agreements, and marketing partnerships.
- Advise on the legal implications of business decisions, transactions, and new market entries.
- Identify potential legal risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, including managing disputes, litigation, and regulatory investigations.
- Manage and resolve legal disputes, including commercial litigation, arbitration, and mediation, in collaboration with external legal counsel when necessary.
- Support M&A activities in the region when necessarily, including conducting legal due diligence, drafting and negotiating transaction documents, and advising on post-merger integration.
- Work closely with various departments, such as Operations, HR, Finance, Marketing, and Supply Chain, to provide legal support and ensure alignment with the company’s objectives.
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for the Regional Legal Counsel role will bring a wealth of experience and a strong legal background.
- Qualified lawyer with a minimum of 5-8 years of post-qualification experience, gained both in law firms and as in-house counsel.
- Exhibit strong communication, analytical, and commercial skills, with a collaborative and innovative mindset, showing enthusiasm for an inclusive and diverse work environment.
- Agile, resilient and able to demonstrate exceptional abilities in drafting and negotiating contracts, with a particular emphasis on commercial agreements.
- Candidate who has experience in F&B/retail/FMCG is viewed favourably.
