About the Assistant Vice President, Manager, Legal Role:
As the Assistant Vice President, Manager, Legal, you will be responsible for rendering legal support and advice to various business and function units as well as play a pivotal role in the legal department’s continued development and in driving the growth of the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparing, drafting, reviewing and advising on a wide range of contracts/agreements and other legally binding documents to be entered into by the user departments
• Providing numerous advice to all user/business departments within the group from legal perspective on issues relating to the group’s operations and projects to ensure that relevant laws and regulations and/or relevant internal policies are in compliance to minimise the group’s exposure to any liabilities, the group’s legal interests and rights are protected
• Rendering legal advice and opinion on issues raised by user/business departments and conducting legal research as well as to keep abreast with developments or updates in the relevant laws and regulations applicable to the group
• Assisting in drafting of policies and procedures to ensure legal and regulatory compliance by the relevant user/business departments and assignments or matters as instructed by the Head of Legal, from time to time
• Managing and advising on operations of trademarks and other IP rights of the group, litigation and consumer tribunal cases and liaising and working with external lawyer on the same
• Engaging with external lawyers and liaise and work with external lawyers on matters which require external assistance
• Promoting legal awareness and to conduct briefings on legal awareness, as needed and supervising subordinates within the legal department

To succeed in this role, you need to have a minimum of 6 - 10 years of PQE, independent, driven and have the following traits and qualifications.

Key Requirements:

• At least a bachelor’s degree, postgraduate diploma, professional degree, law with related work experience
• An excellent knowledge and understanding of corporate law and procedures
• Full comprehension of the influences of the external environment of a corporation
• Demonstrated ability to create legal defensive or proactive strategies with sound judgement and ability to analyse situations and information
• Willing to travel and able to work independently in a high-pressure and fast-paced work environment
