One of the region's leading insurance company is now seeking a stellar Associate Director, Legal, Secretariat & Shariah. In this job, you will lead and manage the legal, secretariat and shariah function within the group.
About the Associate Director, Legal, Secretariat & Shariah Role: Reporting to the CEO, you are required to deliver strategic advice and solutions, managing legal risks as well as drafting, reviewing and negotiating transactional documents in respect of the group's legal and compliance functions.
Key Responsibilities:
Be responsible for legal review of all contracts, agreement where the group is a party or a beneficiary to ensure the terms and conditions are fair and to the best interest of the group
Prepare various legal documentation such as memorandums, presentations, knowledge sharing
Providing legal advice as required from time to time by various stakeholders including to propose viable legal solutions/approaches
Lead one of Shariah functions required by policy document on shariah governance whilst providing legal advisory to the business, operations and Shariah committee
Lead the board secretarial function within the group, by coordinating with company secretary to ensure smooth planning of board/board committee meeting, prepare/review board papers and render secretarial advice to the board
Perform other responsibilities and duties periodically assigned by the CEO/senior management team
To succeed in this role, you must have at least 10 years of PQE in the legal and shariah department. Candidates who have worked insurance/takaful companies are encouraged to apply.
Key Requirements:
Degree in Law and Shariah certified practitioner
Problem solving and strategic in thinking with strong analytical skills
Strong ability to identify legal risks, review and enhance documentation and processes
Good communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work independently and collaboratively
