Partner (Corporate M&A)

As a Partner in the corporate practice of this leading firm, the opportunities that come with the role include to execute and complete cross-border and domestic M&A, joint ventures, takeovers, restructuring and other corporate exercises in various industries such as insurance, banks and financial institutions, telecommunications, oil and gas, manufacturing, healthcare, real estate, and education.

What you'll do:

• Render legal work relating to mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, equity capital markets, commercial real estate, corporate or securities law and general commercial work
• Draft, review and advise on commercial contracts and provide legal and regulatory advice relating to laws and regulations
• Participate and lead in legal due diligence and in the drafting of transaction documents
• Provide legal consultation to clients and proactively and confidently manage clients and their expectations with professional responsiveness

This role is for an experienced, aspiring, and innovative candidate who is a leader in their field with the drive to excel and spearhead their own corporate M&A practice.

What you bring:

• Minimum of 8 - 10 years’ experience in handling corporate matters, with preference in M&A transactions and capital markets
• Excellent negotiation, drafting and personal relations skills
• Fluent in written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia
• Strong analytical and logical reasoning skills with good time management
• Results-driven and enjoys operating in a fast-paced environment
• Immaculate communication and interpersonal skills
• A self-starter with innate drive for achievement, ability to work independently and able to thrive under pressure
