Associate Legal Counsel, Regional

This is an Associate Legal Counsel, regional role with a personal care and wellness brand. A science-based consumer goods business developing a skincare, beauty and health supplement range via a direct selling model.

This role offers the following exciting opportunities:

• Provide business-focused legal advice and support to various functions within the dynamic markets of Southeast Asia and Pacific Regions
• Engage confidently and effectively with stakeholders and legal teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Ensure operations are compliant with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.

What you'll do:

As an Associate Legal Counsel, your expertise will be crucial in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts as well as providing legal solutions that support business initiatives.

The primary responsibilities are:

• Provide business-focused legal advice to various functions within the markets
• Engage confidently and effectively with stakeholders and legal teams
• Work with Business Managers and other in-house Legal Teams to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and company policies
• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts
• Provide legal solutions to support business initiatives
• Assist in managing company secretarial matters
• Draft, review, and support company policies and guidelines
• Provide legal training and advise on new laws and their business impacts

What you bring:

As the ideal candidate for the Associate Legal Counsel position, you bring a wealth of experience from being admitted as a legal practitioner in Malaysia with at least 5 years of post-qualification experience.

You must also possess the following:

• LLB or equivalent qualification and admitted as a legal practitioner in Malaysia
• Minimum 5 years post qualification experience (in-house experience with multinational corporation preferred)
• Experience in corporate commercial/contract works (including negotiation) and handling of general legal matters
• Experience developing legal templates, processes, policies, managing risks and disputes
• Strong negotiation, planning skills
• Excellent command of spoken and written English; understanding of Chinese is an asset
