Privacy Counsel, APAC

The Privacy Counsel - Asia Pacific is responsible for managing compliance with privacy statutes and regulations, communicating with various levels of management and staff, data privacy regulators, legal department peers, and outside counsel and supporting new and existing projects and initiatives.

This role offers the following exciting opportunities:

• Provide day-to-day legal expertise on privacy law matters
• Manage compliance with privacy statutes and regulations
• Work closely with various global stakeholders including data privacy regulators

What you'll do:

As a Privacy Counsel for Asia Pacific, your role will be pivotal in providing legal expertise on a wide range of privacy law matters.

The primary responsibilities are:

• Ensure client contracts align with all relevant privacy laws
• Draft, review, and negotiate privacy and data protection language for agreements
• Review initiatives for compliance with privacy laws within the system
• Advise on data privacy incidents and manage regulatory interactions
• Establish excellent working relationships with business members to identify and address privacy risks
• Support projects designed to maintain awareness of the company's approach to privacy

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Privacy Counsel - Asia Pacific role brings 3-5 years of proven experience in privacy and data protection law and regulation. You have extensive knowledge of APAC region data protection laws.

• 3-5 years proven experience in privacy and data protection law and regulation
• Knowledge of APAC region data protection laws
• CIPP certified or equivalent knowledge
• Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements
• Experience working with OneTrust preferred
• Ability to learn quickly, identify and resolve legal issues
