A public listed company in the property and aviation business is seeking a Head of Legal to oversee the timely, cost effective, and business friendly provision of legal and secretarial services.
Our client who owns and manages a range of properties (offices, warehouses, commercial showroom and development) and provides private aviation services (hangarage, aircraft handling and aircraft management services) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Legal to lead their legal department.

What you'll do:
As Head of Legal, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the company's legal strategy and providing guidance on all legal matters, contributing to the overall success of the business.
The primary responsibilities are:
- Provide expert advice on all legal matters affecting the company, including corporate law, compliance issues, and risk management.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Manage relationships with external counsel and oversee all litigation matters.
- Lead and manage a team of professionals, setting strategic direction and ensuring operational efficiency.
- Stay abreast of changes in legislation that may affect the company and ensure appropriate measures are taken.
- Promote a culture of integrity and ethical behaviour within the organisation.
- Manage workloads and budget, supervising internal and external legal services
- Organise board meetings, review minutes of meetings and advise on secretarial and corporate governance matters alongside the external service provider.
What you bring:
As Head of Legal, you bring a wealth of experience and strong knowledge of corporate law and experience dealing with diverse legal issues make you an invaluable asset.
You must also possess the following:
- A minimum of 10 PQE with relevant experiences
- Proven experience as a senior legal counsel in business environment or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of corporate law and experience with diverse legal issues.
- Excellent leadership skills with ability to guide a team of professionals.
- Exceptional negotiation skills with experience in managing relationships with external counsel.
- Ability to develop strategies and plans that align with the company's business objectives.
- Strong understanding of how changes in legislation can impact an organisation.
- Commitment to promoting integrity and ethical behaviour within an organisation.
