Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Counsel to join their team. This role serves as the primary point of contact for all legal queries within the business, including commercial, corporate, procurement, IT and more.

What you'll do:
As Lead Counsel, you will play a pivotal role in providing a wide range of legal advice to senior management and business unit leaders.
The primary responsibilities are:
- Provision of a broad range of legal advice to senior management and business leaders.
- Protecting legal and financial interests when negotiating, advising on, drafting and reviewing agreements.
- Support the delivery of the legal strategic plan.
- Ensure corporate governance rules and processes are maintained and enforced.
- Liaise with and manage external counsel, staying updated on changes in laws that could impact the organization and on dispute management.
- Develop standardised contract templates and streamline the contract review process.
- Lead or assist in resolving disputes through negotiation, mediation, arbitration, or litigation.
- Advise and manage trademarks and intellectual property issues.
- Oversee safe keeping of original documents such as Issue documents of title, sale and purchase agreements, trademark licenses/certificates etc.

What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this Lead Counsel role will bring a wealth of experience.
You must also possess the following:
- LLB or equivalent degree in law
- Advocate/Solicitor admitted to practice in Malaysia
- 10+ years of experience practicing law or in a public listed company/MNC
- Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia communication and presentation
- Experienced in contract laws, property development and management, manufacturing, intellectual property and litigation.
- Process-oriented with ability to multi-task
- Strong leadership skills
- Excellent business acumen as well as legal expertise
