This company is seeking a Head, Legal & Compliance to lead their dynamic team based in Kuala Lumpur and ensure all legal and compliance aspects of the business are taken care of.
This role offers the following exciting opportunities:
- Lead and develop the company's legal matters through legal implications and compliance
- Manage and govern compliance initiatives and programmes
- Keep abreast and up to date on new laws and regulations
What you'll do:
As a Head, Legal & Compliance, you have a crucial role in the hands-on engagement with legal and compliance matters for the organization.
The primary responsibilities are:
- Advise Management/Department Heads on broad range legal and compliance matters and execute implementation / transformation strategies for legal and compliance (anti-money laundering, anti-corruption, whistleblowing, etc) framework.
- Proactively identify risks, manage and assess risks and provide legal advice in respect of all corporate operational legal matters and ensure legal compliance.
- Conduct and keep abreast of any new laws and regulations applicable to the Company, initiate necessary change and impact to business operations.
- Research and evaluate different risk factors regarding business decisions and operations.
- Reviews, negotiates and drafting all types of arrangements, contacts, legal documents and etc.
- Liaise with external parties and lawyers on legal matters.
- Drive and facilitate a culture of compliance across the Company.
- Conduct work with integrity and responsibility.
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this Head, Legal & Compliance role will bring to the table an extensive exposure in corporate law and knowledge of corporate legal issues.
You must also possess the following:
- Proven experience in leading legal and compliance affairs with the ability to manage a team.
- Key exposure in corporate law and knowledge of corporate legal issues
- Good analytical skills and sound legal judgement to support business needs.
- Excellent business judgment, agility and ability to employ strategic thinking .
- Demonstrate ability to manage multiple disparate tasks, possess excellent organizational skills.
- Strong in drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of commercial documents.
- Strong managerial skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
