A role as an Assistant Manager / Manager, Legal & Company Secretary has just been made available at one of the life insurance players based in Kuala Lumpur. This role requires a candidate to be dual-qualified, both called to the Malaysian Bar and is a licensed Company Secretary.
This company is seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Manager / Manager for their Legal & Company Secretary department. This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide sound and cost-effective services on all legal and company secretarial matters.

What you'll do:
As an Assistant Manager / Manager for Legal & Company Secretary, you will play a pivotal role in providing sound advice on all legal and company secretarial matters.
The primary responsibilities are:
- Draft, prepare, review, and comment on legal documents, contracts, letters to ensure compliance with relevant laws, company policies, and regulatory requirements
- Attend product team meetings, review materials, and provide legal input particularly in respect of compliance to applicable laws and implementation
- Review litigation course papers and manage external lawyers
- Prepare/draft relevant policies, standard operating procedures for the department when required
- Manage corporate secretarial responsibilities and ensure proper record keeping of all legal contracts, statutory forms and documents
- Prepare, co-ordinate, liaise and attend to Directors and Shareholders in relation to company secretarial matters including preparation of Annual General Meeting, Board of Director’s meeting
- Attend and take minutes of Board of Directors and Board Committee meetings
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this Assistant Manager / Manager role will bring a wealth of experience within corporate law, conveyancing, commercial litigation and secretarial roles.
You would possess the following:
- Minimum of 3 - 5 years post-qualifying experience
- Qualified / licensed Company Secretary
- Experience in corporate law, conveyancing, commercial litigation, and secretarial roles
- Degree in a related field is required
