A publisher and distributor of books and educational materials is recruiting a Manager, Legal (Contracts & Content Protection). In this job, you will drive legal matters for Malaysia and SEA.

About the Manager, Legal (Contracts & Content Protection) Role:
You will be providing legal advice and consultation across the business and support in enhancing legal processes and practices across current operations, expansion plans and new projects within the region.

Key Responsibilities:

• Draft, review and advise on agreements, contracts and legal documents related to the areas of publication (both print and e-book form), acquiring rights and licences, royalties and others
• Identify unauthorised uses of intellectual property and to execute notice and take-down protocols
• Handle all trademark and copyright matters
• Liaise with and instruct external lawyers
• Provide legal advice and assistance in any other duties as directed by the management

To succeed in this role, you will need to enjoy creative problem solving and be resourceful to work independently as a single contributor.

Key Requirements:

• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in law or equivalent
• At least three to five years’ experience in a private legal practice
• Proficient in drafting various types of contracts
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a high level of integrity and confidentially
