To continue to meet and exceed the demands and expectations of the group’s growing business and as part of this expansion, is now recruiting a high-calibre Head, Legal to support legal operations in Indonesia.

About the Head, Legal Role:
You will play a pivotal role in the legal team’s continued development and expansion in driving the growth of the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, drive, and manage the legal department with high-quality and solution-oriented legal advice for operations, projects and transactions undertaken including litigation, disputes and claims
• Protect legal interests and reputation and consider strategic and business needs to ensure long-term sustainability of the group’s function and growth
• Negotiate, draft and review documents and advise on relevant legal and regulatory requirements. Expedite progress of transactions by generating relevant legal documents in-house and provide detailed review of and value-add comments
• Handle corporate transactions such as M&A, disposals, joint ventures, financing and other transactions and structure deals in compliance with legal requirements while meeting commercial objectives and recommend solutions/steps to achieve the same
• Grow a team that is capable of independently providing sound legal advice and facilitate business objectives

The successful Head, Legal must be driven and focused with the ability to be an independent thinker and work on their own initiatives and have good understanding and knowledge of business objectives.

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) and admitted to the Malaysian Bar or its equivalent
• Must possess at least 10 years PQE in legal practice/in-house commercial setting. Candidates who are equipped with solid M&A, JV work experience will be viewed favourably
• Strong analytical skills (balancing understanding of the law and possess good negotiation skills)
• Ability to negotiate contracts and find solutions in deadlocks
• Enjoys high-pressure and dynamic environment
• Willing to relocate/travel (as and when required) and able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Proactive and independent with strong sense of responsibility and able to work in fast paced environment/tight deadlines, meticulous and integrity
