What you'll do:
As an Associate, you will play a pivotal role in advising global clients on the intricacies of complex financial products. Your day-to-day responsibilities include :
- Advise on the drafting and negotiation of documentation for derivatives transactions, including over-the-counter derivatives and structured products, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Support the development and implementation of hedging strategies across interest rate, foreign exchange, equity, and commodity derivatives for global clients.
- Review, negotiate, and interpret legal agreements with particular emphasis on ISDA Master Agreements and related documentation to mitigate risks effectively.
- Collaborate with cross-border teams as well as international clients on both transactional matters and advisory projects, fostering strong inter-personal relationships.
- Assist in structuring and executing complex financial transactions by providing insightful legal analysis and practical solutions tailored to client needs.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory frameworks as well as internal policies by staying up-to-date with evolving industry standards.
- Provide comprehensive legal and risk analysis regarding derivatives and hedging strategies to support informed decision-making processes.
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for the Associate – Derivatives and Hedging position will bring a wealth of proven experience from either a leading law firm or an established in-house legal team within financial services. regulatory landscapes.
- 2–3 years post-qualification experience ideally gained at a top-tier law firm or within an in-house legal team in financial services, demonstrating dependability in handling complex matters.
- Background in derivatives, hedging strategies, and structured finance transactions are favourably.
- Comprehensive understanding of ISDA Master Agreements along with related documentation which enables you to provide accurate advice on risk mitigation.
- Exposure to cross-border transactions coupled with familiarity with international regulatory frameworks that supports effective collaboration across jurisdictions.
- Exceptional drafting skills combined with strong negotiation abilities
- Ability to thrive within an international environment by leveraging your interpersonal skills for successful teamwork.
- Excellent communication skills that facilitate clear interactions with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders alike.
