The legal services consulting arm of this global multinational UK law firm is hiring a Legal Consultant for bankikng & finance in-house advisory work.
Our client is seeking a Legal Consultant with banking experience to join their ambitious team.

What you'll do:
As a Legal Consultant in Banking & Finance, you will play a pivotal role in managing an extensive range of legal work that has been outsourced from the global banking sector.
The primary responsibilities are:
- Advising and reviewing loan documents, including facility agreements, security documents, and other transaction documents to ensure compliance with internal policies and risk management practices.
- Advising, reviewing, and negotiating changes to standard facility letters, board resolutions, and corporate guarantees to ensure commercial objectives are achieved and internal approvals are obtained.
- Assisting the deals team and other stakeholders by carrying out a transaction management role for loan transactions.
- Reviewing and advising on non-standard corporate authorisation documents of banking customers.
- Building relationships and rapport, demonstrating credibility.
- Communicating effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Working on your own initiative and taking ownership of tasks, time, and workload by prioritising and managing expectations.
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this Legal Consultant position will have a commercial and practical outlook coupled with meticulous attention to detail. Their ability to build relationships quickly while demonstrating credibility will be key in this role. They should be confident in communicating effectively with stakeholders at all levels. The ability to work independently, take ownership of tasks, manage their time effectively, and prioritise their workload is essential.
- Called to the Malaysian Bar with 2-3 PQE and experienced in banking & finance.
- Exposure in drafting and negotiating loan agreements, security documents for syndicated and bilateral loans (preferred).
- Familiarity with APLMA documents (preferred).
- Excellent computer skills, particularly with MS Office and Outlook.
- Commercial and practical outlook.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to build relationships and rapport, demonstrating credibility.
- Confidence in communicating effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to work on your own initiative and take ownership of tasks, time, and workload by prioritising and managing expectations.
