Legal Director (10 PQE)
An exciting Legal Director role has just been made available at a leading international bank.
Our client is seeking a seasoned Legal Director to work with the Legal, Executive Director to advise on a whole range of corporate banking legal matters covering both conventional and Islamic banking products.

What you'll do:
As a Legal Director you will play a pivotal role in providing comprehensive legal support across all banking products.
The primary responsibilities are:
- To assist the Board and Management to manage and mitigate potential legal risk and exposure to the Bank arising from the conduct of its banking business (banking products both conventional and Islamic).
- Provide legal support and advice on all legal matters on banking products in accordance with the Bank's procedures and policies.
- Review and draft legal documents and commercial contracts such as bilateral, syndication /club deals, facility letters, loan agreements, service agreements (intragroup and vendor), trade and IT contracts.
- Conduct research and provide guidance on legal matters, developments, and updates on legislations.
- Support Head Office or Regional Office in rolling out group-wide initiatives.
- Present legal updates at Management Committee or Board meetings when required.
- Conduct continuous learning training or arrange for external trainings within the Bank.
- Liaise with external lawyers and regulators on legal issues involving the Bank.
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this Legal Director role will bring a wealth of experience within financial institutions or the financial services industry and it has equipped you with a deep understanding of both conventional and Islamic banking products. Your knowledge extends to laws relevant to banking/contract law.
You must also possess the following:
- Professional law degree, LLB or equivalent with the Certificate of Legal Practice/Bar
- A minimum of 10 years of experience gained from legal practice and in-house financial institution
- Understanding of conventional and Islamic banking products
- Knowledgeable about law relevant to banking/contract law
- Good communication skills
- Strong analytical abilities
