A financial institution is seeking a high calibre Legal Counsel to join their global transaction banking team. What you'll do:
As a Legal Counsel, your role will be pivotal in providing comprehensive legal support to both Transaction Banking (TB) and Corporate Banking (CB).
- Provide Transaction Banking (TB) and Corporate Banking (CB) legal support timely, correct, and effective legal service pertaining to operational, business, product development, administrative, policy, planning and implementation matters.
- Review and draft legal documentation trade instruments like bank guarantees and letters of credit, cash management agreements and corporate banking/financing documents like letter of offer, term sheets, facility agreements, security documents.
- Provide accurate and timely legal advisory for TB and CB.
- Offer legal advice, support and guidance to business units on various legal issues.
- Monitor litigation cases involving TB.
- Provide requisite legal support for relevant SP initiatives undertaken by TB.
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this Legal Counsel position brings a minimum of 5-7 years PQE with a law firm or as an in-house counsel, preferably within a financial institution. Your experience should encompass areas of Transaction Banking (TB) and Corporate Banking (CB) for both non-contentious as well as litigation matters. A sound knowledge of the law coupled with a good understanding of the legal and regulatory framework relevant to banking and finance is essential. Your ability to bring pertinent legal developments to the attention of the relevant business units of TB and CB will be highly valued.
- Minimum 5 - 7 years PQE with a law firm and/or in house counsel preferably with a financial institution with experience in the areas of TB and CB.
- Possess sound knowledge of the law and good understanding of legal and regulatory framework relevant to banking and finance.
- Able to bring pertinent legal developments to the attention of the relevant business units of TB and CB.
