What you'll do:
As the AVP ,Legal, you will be supporting on legal work related to capital market and corporate banking. Key responsibilities included:-
- Offer advisory and conduct thorough legal reviews of documents related to various capital market products, including Debt Capital Markets, Corporate Loans, and Equity Capital Markets, to ensure compliance and safeguard organizational interests.
- Design and regularly update frameworks, policies, and procedures to align with new legal requirements, ensuring the organization remains compliant with evolving regulatory standards.
- Develop and implement standardized documentation protocols for relevant departments, providing clear guidance to streamline processes and uphold consistency across the organization.
- Proactively identify, manage, and mitigate legal risks by conducting in-depth documentation reviews, providing strategic advisory services, and establishing robust policies to protect the organization’s interests.
- Act as the primary liaison with external solicitors when needed, coordinating effectively to secure comprehensive legal insights and support on complex matters.
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for the this position brings a wealth of legal experience in corporate banking/capital market. Key requirements:-
- Bachelor’s Degree in Law; admission to the Malaysian Bar is preferred and would be considered an added advantage.
- At least 3 years of professional experience in the securities or financial industry, regulatory bodies, or equivalent relevant experience gained in a law firm setting.
- Demonstrated expertise and in-depth understanding of the Capital Market, with proven experience in handling related legal matters.
- Solid foundation in legal knowledge, particularly in contract law and its practical applications within the industry.
- Exceptional drafting skills, with the ability to create clear, accurate, and well-structured legal documents.
- Strong analytical skills, enabling the provision of concise and precise legal advice that addresses complex issues effectively.
