As a result of ongoing and continued successes, this international bank is currently seeking an Assistant Vice President, Legal. In this job, you will support all legal and compliance function who will be reporting directly to the Head of Legal.

About the Assistant Vice President, Legal Role:
This is a great opportunity for banking lawyers from the private practice looking to transition in-house as this is an organisation that believes in the training and development of its internal employees. In this critical role, you will be responsible for managing and/or handling a wide range of legal matters and be a key role in ensuring the continuous success of the legal department and company.

Key Responsibilities:

• Providing legal advice and opinion to various departments of the bank
• Managing, reviewing, revising and/or drafting any relevant bank's documentation from time to time as may be required to ensure legal compliance as well as for creation of any new products that the bank may embark upon
• Ensuing transactions entered is in full compliance of all laws and regulations
• Liaising with relevant department key stakeholders to ensure all legal process are properly implemented including responding to inquiries on related legal process requirements
• Evaluating and/or amending existing compliance rules, policies, guide as required by local management, regional and parent bank's directives
• Communicating and liaising with bank's panel of legal counsel and attending to any other ad hoc tasks assigned by the Head of Legal

To succeed in this role, you must possess at least three to five years of PQE of proven working experience, able to work effectively and coupled with the following traits.

Key Requirements:

• Candidates must possess a LL.B or its equivalent
• Candidates from the banking industry will be viewed favourably
• Self-motivated, able to work independently and possesses a high degree of professionalism and integrity
• Able to effectively communicate in English and Bahasa Malaysia with all levels of internal stakeholders and external regulators/government departments and agencies
• Meticulous with logical thinking abilities
