Legal Associate (Corporate)

A Legal Associate (Corporate) job has become available at an international affiliated law firm in Kuala Lumpur for its corporate division.

About the Legal Associate (Corporate) Role:
Due to growth and consolidation plans, the Legal Associate (Corporate) will play an integral role in the firm’s continued development and success in its office based in Kuala Lumpur.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drafting, reviewing, vetting, and preparing a broad range of corporate and commercial contracts including but not limited to Sales of Purchase Agreement, Shareholders' agreement, etc.
• Rendering legal opinions/advice to clients by conducting extensive legal research and keeping abreast with all relevant legislations and regulations
• Handling all range of corporate matters including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and cross-border investments
• Participating actively and directly in due diligence exercise, negotiation of contracts and other commercial material agreements within and/or related to corporate activities
• Providing extensive consultation, client management and other support to Partners/Managing Partner in the firm, as and when required
• Liaising with clients, be it domestic or international clients including MNCs, with minimal supervision and proactively and regularly reporting to the Partner on the progress, process, and implementation on all matters

Key Requirements:

• Admitted to the High Court of Malaya
• Two to five years of PQE in the corporate practice, preferably from top-tier Malaysian law firms
• Garnished solid exposure to corporate advisory, international cross-border investment, M&A and financing transactions
• Sound technical legal knowledge in corporate structures and corporate governance, commercial transactions, strong legal research skills, meticulous, detailed-oriented, and thorough
• Excellent interpersonal skills and highly proficient in written and spoken English
