Associate – Trademark

One of the leading and well-established Intellectual Property (IP) service firms with a strong presence across Asia Pacific is currently looking to recruit a high-calibre Associate – Trademark. In this job, you will join their trademark team based in Kuala Lumpur.

About the Associate – Trademark Role:
This is a great opportunity for a private practitioner specialising in IP/trademark to transition into an in-house legal role. You will play a key role in managing a wide range of trademark matters whereby the team services a diverse client base, ranging from global 500 companies, SMEs, public sector organisations, foreign associates, local clients, etc.

Key Responsibilities:

• Managing and handling end-to-end trademark prosecution matters which include but not limited to trademark registration, attending to oppositions and other contentious matters in particular in Malaysia and Singapore
• Becoming a subject-matter expert on various trademark matters, amongst others include any advisory, procedures and administrative operations
• Collaborating and working with other trademark teams across the APAC region, if any/required
• Ensuring all processes, tasks and projects run in a smooth manner

The successful Associate - Trademark will have at least two to five years’ PQE in an IP, trademark or legal practice and is able to work independently and effectively.

Key Requirements:

• Able to manage time, resources, and multiple activities simultaneously
• Excellent verbal/written communication and presentation skills
• An excellent command of both written and spoken English
• Meticulous and able to work independently with minimum supervision
• Able to work within a diverse team in a fast paced, ever-changing environment
