Legal & Corporate Manager

An innovative investment company with diversified interests in energy, infrastructure, IT and construction and property development is currently seeking a Legal & Corporate Manager. In this job, you will join its legal and corporate department.

About the Legal & Corporate Manager Role:
Reporting to the CEO, this Legal & Corporate Manager will be based in the Petaling Jaya office and will take charge on all legal affairs of the company with a close-knit team culture.

Key Responsibilities:

• Handle all legal related matters and ensure the company’s due compliance with respect to applicable legislations and regulations
• Review, negotiate, and draft various corporate/commercial agreements, conducting legal research, provide legal opinions and perform advisory role on various legal issues for the company and associated companies
• Proactively and independently manage all claims and litigation matters of the company and the associated companies including liaising and instructing external legal counsels, external tax advisers, external financial advisers, clients and business partners in relation to legal, tax and finance matters for the company and associated companies
• Evaluate and advise on commercial proposals, financial proposals, investment opportunities, from legal, commercial and technical perspectives
• Manage such other tasks as required by the CEO or the needs of the company and its associated companies

To succeed in this Legal & Corporate Manager role, you must be confident in undertaking a sole contributor role with experience in handling construction/development-related matters.

Key Requirements:

• Admitted as an advocate and solicitor of the High Court of Malaya with no less than five years of PQEs, inclusive of private legal practice experience from reputable law firms
• Experience with independently managing construction and/or projects related matters, disputes and claims (candidates with experience handling corporate exercises, commercial and financial proposals is preferred)
• Excellent communication skills
• Resourceful, self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Analytical, a quick learner and adaptable
