Legal Manager

This company in the business of chemical manufacturing, supply and distribution in Malaysia, Singapore and Vietnam with continuous expansion and growth plans is recruiting for a Legal Manager job to oversee legal and compliance matters.

About the Legal Manager Role:
In this position, you will lead legal and regulatory compliance matters in daily operations covering the areas of chemical manufacturing, supply and distribution and ensure compliance with laws and regulations and corporate policies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic and tactical advisory and manage queries from various internal stakeholders on a broad range of legal matters including, corporate, commercial, and conveyancing
• Review, draft and negotiate agreements and any other related legal documentation and develop autonomous work flow, processes, and policies for contract management portfolio
• Ensure compliance by keeping abreast on all laws and regulatory developments (such as Anti-Corruption amongst others) and implement sound legal policies, guidelines and procedures in frameworks to ensure good corporate governance
• Assist in a range of potential corporate transactions, including but not limited to mergers and acquisitions, investments, and other strategic transactions from end to end

To succeed in this Legal Manager role, you will need to be a go-getter with strong independent work ethics and be able to hit the ground running in managing the legal affairs of this organisation and advise senior management.

Key Requirements:

• Admitted as an advocate and solicitor of the High Court of Malaya with a minimum of eight years' PQE, with private practice and/or in-house legal work experience (candidates with prior work experience in the manufacturing/chemicals industry have an added advantage)
• Good communication skills (candidates who are multilingual with Mandarin proficiency will have an added advantage)
• Analytical, diligent, possess commercial and business acumen, good planning and organisation skills and possess leadership/management traits
