About the AVP/VP, Legal Role:
Reporting directly to the SVP/HOD, Legal, this is a role which provides substantial regional and international exposure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor changes in relevant legislation and the regulatory environment and take appropriate and timely necessary action to inform the division or unit
• Assist in monitoring and reviewing the contractual obligation or commitment by the company or subsidiaries managed by the Group are executed in compliance with the relevant legislation and in the best interests of the company
• Execute the drafting, negotiating and managing legal aspects of all forms of commercial agreements, and providing ongoing post-closing legal support to internal business clients to ensure compliance to the laws and regulations
• Provide recommendation, guidance and information to the group on matters pertaining or relating to legal policies, guidelines and procedures to ensure its workforce understand and implement correctly the guiding policies, guidelines and procedures in order to achieve manpower efficiency and effectiveness, in carrying out their duties to meet the departments, divisions, companies and groups goals and objectives
• Maintain positive relationships with internal and external parties including vendors, government, statutory bodies, industry practitioner to support smooth running of corporate planning operations

To succeed in this role, the job holder would need to have at least seven years of PQE, from a reputable law firm or in-house legal institution.

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree and/or master’s degree in law
• Candidates who are experienced and specialised in mergers and acquisitions deals/funds experience will be viewed favourably
• Able to work independently in managing end-to-end transactional work, leading negotiations and in taking on the role of a key liaison with both internal and external stakeholders, as well as demonstrating strong leadership skills
• Strong communication skills, organised, meticulous with an eye for detail
• Ability to work in a highly demanding/fast-paced environment
