Retail Recruitment Specialist (Immediate Start - Contract)
A leading global retail organisation seeks an immediate-start Recruitment Specialist to drive a large-scale hiring initiative for retail associates across Malaysia. This contract role offers the opportunity to shape recruitment strategies, manage high-volume campaigns, and build sustainable talent pipelines through partnerships and community outreach, supporting nationwide retail expansion with enthusiastic, brand-aligned hires.
As a Recruitment Specialist who can start immediately, you will be entrusted with driving end-to-end recruitment initiatives that fuel the growth of retail operations. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve:
- Developing comprehensive mass hiring strategies tailored to attract, engage, and secure qualified retail store associates in alignment with workforce requirements across multiple locations.
- Planning, organising, and leading recruitment drives as well as walk-in interview events in major cities and retail outlets to ensure timely fulfilment of staffing needs.
- Establishing and nurturing partnerships with universities, colleges, polytechnics, and training institutions to create robust talent pipelines for future hiring demands.
- Designing innovative recruitment campaigns leveraging job portals, social media platforms, and community outreach programmes to maximise candidate engagement and reach under-represented groups.
- Collaborating closely with retail operations teams, HR business partners, and store managers to understand evolving staffing needs and align recruitment activities accordingly.
- Representing the organisation professionally at external events such as career fairs, university engagements, and other institutional gatherings to promote employer branding.
What you bring:
To excel as a Recruitment Specialist – Retail, you will possess the following background:
- At least three years’ proven experience in recruitment roles with a particular focus on either mass or volume hiring within fast-paced environments.
- Demonstrated expertise in managing recruitment campaigns including walk-in interview days or similar high-volume events.
- Exceptional relationship-building skills enabling effective partnerships with universities, colleges, polytechnics, training providers and other external stakeholders.
- Outstanding communication abilities coupled with strong coordination skills that facilitate smooth interactions among candidates and internal teams alike.
- Experience within the retail sector or related industries such as FMCG or hospitality is highly desirable for understanding industry-specific challenges, but not mandatory.
