What you'll do:
As a Global Payroll Executive based in Penang, you will play an integral role in managing the end-to-end process of international payroll administration. Your day-to-day activities will involve collaborating closely with both internal teams and external vendors to ensure timely and accurate payment for employees worldwide. You will be responsible for maintaining precise employee data records, updating systems as needed, generating insightful reports for management review, and addressing any queries or discrepancies with empathy and professionalism. - Collect, calculate, and input employee data meticulously to maintain accurate and up-to-date payroll records for staff located across various countries.
- Process multi-country payrolls with precision and timeliness, ensuring all employees receive correct payments according to local schedules and requirements.
- Review and validate payroll transactions thoroughly to guarantee compliance with local labour laws, tax regulations, and internal company policies.
- Update payroll systems regularly with changes related to job titles, benefits, deductions, and compensation adjustments for global employees.
- Generate comprehensive payroll reports including earnings summaries, tax withholdings, and other relevant data to support business needs and audits.
- Liaise effectively with external payroll vendors to coordinate smooth payroll processing and stay informed about regulatory changes in different jurisdictions.
- Investigate and resolve any discrepancies in payroll promptly while responding considerately to employee inquiries or concerns regarding their pay.
- Document and maintain detailed payroll procedures to support system optimisation efforts and ensure readiness for compliance reviews or audits.
- Uphold the integrity of all payroll operations by adhering strictly to internal controls, established policies, and procedural guidelines at all times.
What you bring:
To excel as a Global Payroll Executive, you will bring proven experience from roles involving international payroll administration or financial operations. Your background should reflect meticulous attention to detail when managing large volumes of sensitive data across multiple jurisdictions. You are comfortable using advanced digital tools for data entry and reporting purposes while remaining adaptable amidst evolving regulatory landscapes. Your interpersonal skills enable you to build trust-based relationships with colleagues globally—responding empathetically to questions or concerns—and your organisational strengths help you juggle competing priorities effectively. - Possess 1–2 years of relevant experience in payroll administration, accounting, or finance within an international context.
- Demonstrate proficient computer skills including data entry accuracy and familiarity with modern payroll software or systems.
- Exhibit a high level of attention to detail when handling sensitive employee information or complex calculations.
- Showcase strong written and verbal communication abilities for effective interaction with employees at all levels as well as global partners.
- Display excellent organisational skills with the capacity to prioritise multiple tasks under tight deadlines without compromising quality.
- Work collaboratively as part of a team while exercising sound judgement in decision-making situations related to confidential matters.
- Operate independently as a self-starter who maintains strict confidentiality regarding sensitive employee data at all times.
- Communicate fluently in conversational English; additional language skills are advantageous but not required.
- Experience working with ADP Celergo is considered beneficial though not mandatory.
