Our client is seeking a seasoned HR (Industrial Relations & Employee Relation) - Section Manager to join their team in Penang. What you'll do:

As an HR (Industrial Relations & Employee Relation) - Section Manager, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining positive employee relationships and ensuring compliance with employment laws. You will handle a variety of Industrial Relation activities, manage complaints, grievances, performance issues, and absence management. Your role will also involve preparing collective bargaining agreements and promoting good faith and mutual respect in your relationship with the Union. Furthermore, you will manage Direct positions from hiring till exit.

  • Maintain positive Direct employee relationships ensuring compliance with employment laws
  • Act as liaison for court matters between Company, Solicitors & IR Court for all Company's IR cases
  • Handle Industrial Relation activities including disciplinary cases and advising management on best practices
  • Manage complaints, grievances, performance issues, and absence management
  • Prepare collective bargaining agreements and participate in coordination of these agreements
  • Promote good faith and mutual respect in terms of relationship with the Union (worksite committee and National Union)
  • Manage Direct positions from hiring till exit

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the IR/ER Section Manager position brings a minimum degree in Human Resource or Business Administration or specialization in IR. You have at least 10 years of relevant work experience under your belt. Your strong knowledge & experience in Union Management, Malaysian Labour Law, IR / Employment Act and other related legislation sets you apart. Your strong communication and negotiation skills enable you to effectively handle various HR matters.

  • Minimum degree in Human Resource or Business Administration or specializing in IR
  • At least 10 years of working experience in related scope
  • Strong knowledge & experience in Union Management, Malaysian Labour Law, IR / Employment Act and other related legislation
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Well verse in RBA Audit
  • Ability to multitask in other HR matters such as Direct employees management from hiring to exit
