Our client is seeking a Training & Development Specialist to play a pivotal role in fostering employee growth and enhancing organisational effectiveness. This role offers the opportunity to design, deliver, and evaluate training programmes that meet the evolving needs of a dynamic workforce - to collaborate across departments, drive learning initiatives, and contribute significantly to the company's culture of continuous learning and professional development.

What you'll do:

As a Training & Development Specialist, you will be instrumental in shaping the learning landscape within the organisation. Your role will involve conducting thorough training needs assessments to identify areas for development. You will work closely with department managers to ensure that training programmes are aligned with business objectives. Your expertise in designing engaging training materials will be crucial in facilitating effective learning experiences. Additionally, you will oversee the implementation of structured on-boarding programmes, ensuring a seamless transition for new hires. Your ability to conduct both in-person and virtual training sessions will be essential in this role. Furthermore, your commitment to continuous improvement will be demonstrated through your efforts in gathering feedback and refining training programmes based on evaluation results.

  • Assess employee learning needs to identify skill/knowledge gaps and development opportunities
  • Collaborate with department managers to align training programmes with business objectives
  • Design and develop training materials, including presentations, e-learning modules, and user guides
  • Leverage Learning Management Systems (LMS) to manage, track, and optimise training initiatives
  • Develop and implement structured onboarding programmes to support new hires in their transition
  • Conduct in-person and virtual training sessions and workshops, and coaching programmes
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure training impact
  • Gather feedback from participants and stakeholders to improve learning experiences

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Training & Development Specialist role brings a wealth of experience in training, learning & development or HR-related roles. Your experience in developing and managing structured onboarding programmes will be invaluable in this position. Your knowledge of adult learning methodologies will inform your approach to designing effective training materials. Your strong communication skills coupled with your collaborative approach will enable you to work effectively across departments. Your analytical mindset will guide your efforts in conducting comprehensive training needs assessments. Your project management skills will be crucial in coordinating multiple learning initiatives. Experience with LMS platforms and e-learning tools will be an added advantage.

  • At least 2-3 years of experience in training, learning & development, or HR-related roles
  • Experience in developing and managing structured onboarding programmes
  • Knowledge in training materials design or adult learning methodologies
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a collaborative approach
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to conduct training needs assessments
  • Project management skills to coordinate multiple learning initiatives
  • Experience with LMS platforms, e-learning tools is a plus
