Senior Manager, HR Operations (Mandarin Speaker)
A leading organisation is seeking a Senior Manager Human Resources Operations to play a central role in shaping and executing HR operational strategies for their new SSC set up in Malaysia.
What you'll do:
As Senior Manager Human Resources Operations, you will be entrusted with overseeing comprehensive HR operations across multiple sites. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include managing the full spectrum of employee services—from onboarding new joiners to handling relocations, payroll preparation, annual processes like share plans or rental reimbursements, as well as ensuring data accuracy in all HR systems.
- Oversee all aspects of HR operations and services within the site, including administration, employee data management, and optimisation of HR information systems to ensure accurate and timely support for employees and stakeholders.
- Partner closely with the payroll team to deliver high-quality HR services that align with business goals while maintaining exceptional standards of support.
- Manage the entire employee lifecycle from onboarding through relocation, data management, visa applications, orientation, payroll preparation, share plans, rental reimbursement programmes, and year-end processes.
- Ensure data accuracy and integrity within Workday and other HR systems by implementing robust controls and leveraging technology to drive automation and self-service tools.
- Develop key performance indicators and metrics to assess the effectiveness of HR services while identifying opportunities for process simplification, standardisation, and automation.
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement by fostering innovation in HR operations and encouraging teams to seek out new ways to enhance service delivery.
- Create, manage, and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements as well as internal company policies.
- Resolve complex operational issues efficiently by escalating matters when necessary and ensuring all actions are compliant with relevant standards.
- Manage relationships with external vendors such as relocation or payroll providers to guarantee service levels are met while collaborating internally with IT, Finance, and Facilities teams on shared activities.
- Mentor and develop the HR operations team by providing clear direction, supporting professional growth, and guiding them through complex or evolving situations.
What you bring:
To excel as Senior Manager Human Resources Operations, your background should reflect substantial experience in overseeing large-scale HR functions within multinational environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or equivalent qualification is required for this position.
- At least 10 years’ proven experience in HR operations or service delivery roles with a minimum of 5 years managing group or regional office functions at a managerial level.
- Experience working within an HR Shared Services environment is highly desirable as it demonstrates your ability to handle complex multi-site responsibilities.
- Demonstrated proficiency in data analysis supports sound decision-making across all aspects of HR operations.
- Proven track record managing vendor relationships—particularly those related to relocation or payroll—ensures consistent service quality across all touchpoints.
- Hands-on experience deploying or reviewing HR systems (such as Workday) or payroll platforms is essential for driving digital transformation initiatives forward.
