A leading global logistics organisation is seeking a Head of People for Malaysia and Singapore, offering you the opportunity to shape the people strategy across two vibrant markets.
What you'll do:
As Head of People Malaysia and Singapore, you will be entrusted with overseeing comprehensive human resources functions that span both strategic planning and hands-on execution. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include managing all facets of HR operations—ensuring compliance with local regulations.
- Oversee all aspects of human resources management including compensation, benefits administration, payroll processes, and maintaining up-to-date employee handbooks in line with local labour laws.
- Manage the entire employee lifecycle from onboarding through offboarding, conducting exit interviews and analysing turnover trends to inform future strategies.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to managers and employees on HR policies, performance management frameworks, and employee relations matters to foster a harmonious workplace.
- Coordinate global mobility processes for international assignees while partnering with regional HR Centres of Excellence to ensure alignment with broader business objectives.
- Prepare detailed HR dashboards and reports using data analytics to provide actionable insights for senior leadership decision-making.
- Lead annual HR budget planning activities, monitor personnel costs closely, and prepare monthly reporting to maintain financial transparency.
- Support office management initiatives such as office setup or relocation projects while ensuring effective risk mitigation across all HR activities.
- Drive end-to-end recruitment processes including candidate screening, interviews, background checks, and delivering an exceptional candidate experience throughout.
- Develop and manage compensation structures by conducting benchmarking analysis against market competition; design reward programmes that enhance employee engagement.
- Promote diversity, equity, inclusion initiatives and facilitate effective communication channels within the HR team as well as inter-departmentally.
What you bring:
- At least 10 years’ proven experience in human resources functions with a minimum of 5 years in a managerial capacity within multinational organisations is required.
- Comprehensive understanding of Malaysian labour law as well as immigration processes and tax regulations relevant to both Malaysia and Singapore is necessary.
- Fluency in both English and Bahasa Melayu (spoken and written) enables effective communication across diverse teams.
- Experience coordinating employee development initiatives including leadership training programmes adds value to your profile.
- A collaborative approach coupled with strong communication skills supports effective change management within multi-site environments.
