HR Director

A distinguished international investment firm is seeking a Human Resources Director to oversee its Human Capital function throughout the Asia region.

What you'll do:

In your capacity as Human Resources Director based in Kuala Lumpur, you will assume a pivotal role in shaping the people agenda across Asia and Australasia. Your daily remit will involve partnering with senior leaders to design forward-thinking human resources strategies that drive organisational performance whilst cultivating an inclusive culture rooted in teamwork and mentorship.

• Provide strategic direction for all aspects of the Human Capital function across multiple countries in the Asia region, ensuring alignment with the organisation’s overarching objectives.
• Supervise all HR operations including talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits administration, learning and development initiatives, as well as succession planning.
• Advise senior management on intricate employment law matters and ensure rigorous compliance with local regulations across diverse jurisdictions.
• Cultivate robust relationships with key stakeholders at every level of the organisation through effective communication and empathetic engagement.
• Guide, mentor, and develop a compact HR department comprising three staff members by providing hands-on support and thoughtful leadership.
• Manage sensitive human resources matters from recruitment through to termination with discretion, empathy, and professionalism.
• Support organisational change initiatives by offering expert counsel on workforce planning, restructuring, or integration activities as required.

What you bring:

To excel as Human Resources Director within this esteemed investment firm, your background should reflect substantial experience overseeing human capital functions within international or financial services contexts.

• Extensive experience in human resources management with experience in senior HR roles within financial services or multinational organisations.
• Comprehensive understanding of local employment laws coupled with broad exposure to regional HR strategy and operations across APAC markets.
• Exceptional English communication skills enabling you to engage effectively with senior stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.
• Demonstrated adaptability when managing complex challenges across all areas of human resources from recruitment through to offboarding.
• Hands-on experience leading small HR teams or departments within environments where flexibility is paramount.
